Why Choose Townhill Infant School for your child?

We are delighted that following our inspection in April 2022 the school has received a good Ofsted grading with outstanding features in Leadership and Management and for Year R.

You can read the full Ofsted Report by either accessing this on the Ofsted Website or our own school website page.

The school has achieved above the national figures for attainment in Reading, Writing and Maths at the end of Key Stage 1 consecutively for 12 years. This is for children achieving age related expectations and for achieving greater depth (above national expectations)

We believe that our school is fantastic. Please see comments made by parents;

  • I would like to thank all the staff for their never-ending and tireless devotion to their pupils and parents.  Townhill is blessed with some of the best and I am proud of the school's achievements.
  • My child loves coming to school and loves telling us what he has been learning every day.
  • Teachers recognise what makes learning interesting so that children love learning.
  • Warm, approachable staff.
  • The school and grounds are maintained beautifully.
  • We can clearly see our daughter is receiving fantastic care and education.
  • Friendly, approachable staff.
  • Staff encourage children to behave and be kind to each other.
  • All children are valued.

Our curriculum is broad and offers a wide range of subjects and topics which have been carefully selected to ensure they offer the children exciting learning opportunities. Our recent Ofsted praised the curriculum offered to our children and about how much the children had learnt and remembered.

We are an inclusive school who value each child as an individual. We want every child to achieve their best and tailor their learning to meet the needs of all children.  Our recent OFSTED inspection noted the outstanding provision for SEND children. We have high expectations for our children and this underpins everything we do.

There are a range of After School Clubs, for example, football, cooking, art, Lego, multi sports, gym from 3pm until 4pm.

Did you also know that the Townhill school site offers care and primary phase education for children from pre-school age up to 11 years?
