Why Choose Townhill Infant School for your child?

We are delighted that following our Ofsted inspection in June 2008 the inspectors have judged that we are a school that is 'outstanding' in all aspects of the inspection framework! This judgement was validated again in Summer 2011.  The Trust Director of Standards and other Senior Leaders within our academy trust undertook a review in January 2016 of our school improvement, progress and priorities and also rated Townhill Infant School as outstanding.  You can read the full Ofsted report and the validation summary, along with the Trust Review findings by clicking on the links on the Key Information page.

We believe that our school is fantastic but don't just take our word for it! Here are some comments from the parents survey:

  • I would like to thank all the staff for their neverending and tireless devotion to their pupils and parents.  Townhill is blessed with some of the best and I am proud of the school's achievements.
  • My child loves coming to school and loves telling us what he has been learning every day.
  • Teachers recognise what makes learning interesting so that children love learning.
  • Warm, approachable staff.
  • The school and grounds are maintained beautifully.
  • We can clearly see our daughter is receiving fantastic care and education.
  • Friendly, approachable staff.
  • Staff encourage children to behave and be kind to each other.
  • All children are valued.

Tours for Prospective YR Parents for September 2018

We will be running self guided tours and accompanied tours for parents of children who will be starting school in September 2018.  Choosing your child's school is so important so we want to give you the opportunity to see our school in action and find out about the 'outstanding' education we provide.

We will be running an open morning and afternoon for parents who already know our school on Tuesday 26th September 9.30 - 10.30am and Wednesday 27th September 1.45 - 2.45pm.  This will give you the opportunity to tour the school with your child so you can both see the school in action.  The Headteacher or Deputy Headteachers will be available during these sessions if you have any questions at all.  You do not have to book a place to attend one of these sessions, so simply turn up on the day.

We will also be offering guided tours which are ideal for parents who do not know our school and/or its their first child to attend school.  These will enable either the Headteacher or one of the Deputy Headteachers to guide a group of up to six parents and their children around the school to give you an insight into how our school works and answer any questions along the way.  Please phone us on 02380 474835 to book a place on one of the tours detailed below as numbers are limited for each tour.  Please bring your child with you so they can look around too!

As our catchment area is made up of addresses that fall within the wards of both Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council this has implications on how you apply for your child's school place for Year R. If you pay your council tax to Southampton City Council you need to apply for a school place via their admissions department.  However, if you pay your council tax to Eastleigh Borough Council you must apply for your child's school place through Hampshire County Council.

If you would like your child to attend Townhill Infant School and they are already attending another school then please contact a member of the office team on 023 8047 4835 who will be happy to guide you through the application process.
